It’s showtime folks!

Nothing I ever do is good enough. Not beautiful enough, it’s not funny enough, it’s not deep enough, it’s not anything enough. Now, when I see a rose, that’s perfect. I mean, that’s perfect. I want to look up to God and say, “How the hell did you do that? And why the hell can’t I do that?”-All That Jazz

The very first 2009 photography show for Free Range Photography has been booked!

For both myself and the owner of Renu-a hair salon there is a brand new place in Ashland to display our talents. Stylist Shannon Christopher Conner and I have been utilizing each others skills for almost a decade. Shannon plans to throw a grand opening for Renu-a hair salon in the brightly lit space located on Will Dodge Way. The creamy and mocha hued  walls will feature bold photographic images I am designing especially for this space. Please stay tuned for additional details and information to follow this early post.

Dive right in…

Once upon a time, a long time ago, I was an avid SCUBA diving fool. Then due to illness and injury, I left the oceanic world behind. Some time later I woke to find that I had become a photographer living in the mountainous regions of the Pacific Northwest…

Talk about diving right into the New Year!

This morning it dawned on me. Its a brand new year-and there’s this thing called exercise that everyone keeps talking about.  I love swimming and figured I could use my old dive fins in the pool at the YMCA. However, cold water fins require neoprene boots. So, today I drove over to Rogue Scuba near White City to see what they had.

Immediate

ly the staff pulled up a chair for me, and handed me boots until we found ones that fit fabulously. Then they suggested, since I had my fins with me, that I should try out my new ‘booties’ in their 80+ degree indoor saline pool. I was delighted there was a bathing suit in my gym bag. They let me test some masks & snorkels. The efficiency & design of these items has really improved since the mid 80’s (the era of my dive certification). There are also new underwater digital cameras. Hmm…is it Christmas yet?

Rogue Scuba offered me a fantastic experience. I left the store grinning. Hopefully my next visit will be for a ‘Try Scuba’ day, Dive Party, Social Night, or Vacation package. A little shopping birdie told me they will be having a sale on woman’s wetsuits soon too.http://www.roguescuba.com/

Have a lovely new year, whether you spend your time above or below the waterline

Will work for film…

-When a mystery is too overpowering, one dare not disobey-the Little Prince.

Welcome to Pugwrinkle.com!

In 1992, I picked up my father’s 40 year old Konica camera just to play…

Since then I’ve been unable to avoid photography (or it’s cliches). For 17 years I’ve tiptoed, jumped, tripped and crashed into images. In the mid-90’s I discovered the New World of film, enlargers, and darkrooms. Upon arrival of the millennium, I journeyed into digital space with Photoshop, RAW images and flash cards. This century was starting to feel very comfortable…

However, a new galaxy called Cyberspace appeared, and with it the vast, enticing World Wide Web. This virtual wild west of networks, sites, and blogs left me at first terrified and later intrigued.

Join me now as I plunge headfirst (saddle be dammed) into the blogosphere, and watch my images boldly go where  they have never gone before…online!

Sincerely,

Lisa Byrne
