Think inside the (free) box.

“If at first, the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it”-Albert Einstein.
Recently I had an idea. (Usually when this happens, my boyfriend says “look out!”) And he’s right. I love getting new ideas. For me, the best part of a new idea is sharing it. With everyone. Even with strangers. Especially with strangers. Once strangers start chatting about new ideas, interesting things happen. They might not remain strangers. They might create amazing things together.
In Ashland we create amazing places. Like the Rogue Valley Media Exchange-where you give & receive books. For free! Like the recycling center-where you give & receive clothing. For free! My idea is to create an artist materials and supply exchange-where you give and receive art making stuff. For free!
My friend Gen says “sometimes you have to ask”
So I’m asking. For any and all usable art materials and supplies. To re-gift back into the community. Art supplies are conducive to creativity. Creativity is conducive to emotional well being, and other great things. Not everyone in town has access to them. How would it feel if you didn’t have your pencils, paint or film? I know art will always get made, but together we can create something more amazing. By asking. By giving. By receiving. It’s an absurd idea! What’s yours? Please tell me. And send some supplies.

P.S. If you are not able to come to me, it’s possible I can come to you. Life is full of possibilities. Lets share some.
